SURRENDER AN ANIMAL
We recognize making the decision to rehome your animal is not an easy decision. If there is anything we might be able to do to help the situation you are facing please reach out to us. We can also point you to some additional resources to help you.
ANIMAL SURRENDER PROCEDURE:
We ask that you fill out the surrender application. Please click on the appropriate link below to download the form. Once completed, please email it to us at Pawsinyourhandsrescue@gmail.com. If you do not have access to a printer, let us know. We will send you an online form to complete.
Gather your pet’s medical records, as well as the name and phone number of their most current veterinarian.
We will work with you to fill out pet personality profiles/animal history forms on your pet. The personality profile is very important as it helps us make the right match between your animal and a potential adopter.
Our rescue requests a $150 donation to help cover the costs of the animal while it is in our care. If you are not able to afford a donation for your animal’s care, we will never turn away an animal based on inability to afford a donation.
Please bring your pet’s favorite food, treats, toys, etc. Rehoming can be a stressful for animals when they first arrive, it can make a big difference to have familiar items around during the transition.
